Light purple and white botryoidal chalcedony - Indonesia - 24g | PCGRAP-24

If you are looking for a rare and special mineral to add to your collection and join your other wonders, here is our selection of botryoidal or grape chalcedony, mistakenly called grape agate (no, it is not an agate at all!).

Originating from the island of Sulawesi, in Indonesia, botryoidal chalcedony is formed of quartz crystallites that strangely resemble a bunch of grapes. Primarily purple with some light to very dark shades for the rarest ones, white, gray, or green botryoidal chalcedony is also found.

Characteristics of botryoidal chalcedony:

• Length: 5.1cm
• Width: 3.5cm
• Height: 2.5cm
• Weight: 24g
• Chalcedony hardness: 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale
• Variety of chalcedony in the form of microcrystalline quartz

Aspects of grape chalcedony:

Found only in Indonesia, here is a sublime 24g botryoidal or grape chalcedony with microcrystalline quartz crystals from 1mm to 4mm in diameter present all over the stone. In terms of color, you will mainly find a little-known purple, flax gray, very pretty with light and dark nuances, and some other clusters that are rather white. A stand will, of course, be provided with the chalcedony so that you can display it carefully and in the position you wish.

Personally, I don't know if you will see it too, but I find that our chalcedony strangely resembles an animal, perhaps a sheep or a dragon (in the first photo), which could make it a much more original piece, and I found it interesting to give my feeling.
