Depending on its colors, natural quartz is known by several names: Rock crystal for translucent quartz, hematoid quartz for "red" quartz rich in hematite, rose quartz as its name indicates because it is pink, amethyst which is violet quartz, or smoky quartz which can vary from clear smoky translucent to black. There are also "artificial" quartz varieties, meaning the base is a real quartz transformed by humans, such as angel aura quartz or titanium quartz on which titanium and other metal oxides are sprayed.
