Vanadinite with a hexagonal crystal system is a mineral species composed of lead chlorovanadate, a mixture of lead, vanadium, oxygen, and chlorine. Vanadinite forms in the oxidation zone of lead deposits when vanadium-rich fluids react with pre-existing minerals. It is used in industry to harden steel. Formed from often shiny and well-defined hexagonal crystals, vanadinite can be found mainly associated with barite, calcite, cerussite, mimetite, and other iron oxides.

Formed on a light rock matrix typical of the Midelt province, here is our very beautiful vanadinite composed of hexagonal prism crystals of various sizes, ranging from less than 1mm to 7mm with an impressive variance of colors from a bright and shimmering red for the smallest crystals, to a slightly darker red and rather brown crystallization at the back of the mineral. All these variances and its correct size make it a true collector's stone that will brilliantly accompany your other stones.
