Collection: Botryoidal chalcedony or grape cluster

A rare natural oddity, here is botryoidal chalcedony, also mistakenly called grape agate, mainly in commercial nomenclature, but which is not an agate at all but rather a variety of chalcedony contrary to what some believe! It is composed of quartz crystallites with a botryoidal or spherical morphology (i.e., formed of small, contiguous spheres resembling a bunch of grapes).

Mainly purple, lavender and other shades, grape chalcedony can also be found in white, gray, green or bluish colors.

Its only known deposit in the world is located in Indonesia, more precisely on the island of Sulawesi, in the North.

A truly rare mineral for those looking for an exceptional piece to add to their collection!
